Launch of Holy Faith Network Website
Website launch poster
On Sunday, 24 February, Sisters, Associates, Prayer Associates, work colleagues, past-pupils, relatives and friends of Holy Faith gathered in St. Mary’s Hall, Glasnevin, for the launch of the new website. The afternoon was characterised by friendship, support and enthusiasm. Sound and projector behaved perfectly and the schedule went perfectly to plan ... but the regional camera was left at home in error! While we have not got the desired range of photos, special thanks go to Sr. Goretti Curtis who saved the day by having a camera to hand.
Welcome
Having welcomed all the gathering, Sr. Brenda Quinn called the launch of the website “a special moment in the Holy Faith Network journey over almost 20 years.” The guest speaker was Pat Coyle, Communications Manager for the Jesuits in Ireland whose informative address was also lively, entertaining and humorous.
The Internet Revolution
Pat's topic was the cyber world in which we live and she compared the impact of the Internet revolution to the invention of the printing press centuries before. This is a world where the youth of today are totally at home but one which is a challenge for many of the older generation. However, the implications of this modern invention are relevant and important for journalism, social interaction, education and, in line with our Holy Faith charism, for evangelisation.
"Christians are to change and transform society," said Pat. That means that "we are called to be immersed in the culture of today". Pat recalled that, before Francis Xavier set out to work in China, he was told by Ignatius to 'learn the language'. She called us to 'go for it' as the website is today "the great tool of communication and it has unique evangelising power."

Presentation to Sr. Jane by Sr. Evelyn
The New Website
The features of the new website were then displayed on screen and Sr. Jane Forde spoke about each page and gave the background to its design and content.
Sr. Evelyn - Regional Leader
Sr. Evelyn Greene, Regional Leader, in her address said that “a site on the World Wide Web is a long way from the world of Margaret Aylward.” However, she added that she had no doubt that “Margaret, given her innovative and persevering nature, would approve of such a project” and that she would “surely be the first to use any available means to spread her vision and to gather enthusiastic followers around the mission of the preservation of the faith and of the promotion of justice for the poor”.
Sr. Diane - Network Co-ordinator
Diane explained how she herself did the original drafts for the Network logo and then Vanessa Soodeen, a graphic artist friend produced the final inspiring version. It is a logo with a message of being one in spirit. Diane, a Trinidadian, shared that the motto of Trinidad is "Together we aspire; together we achieve". In the local lingo, this is expressed as "Al ah we is wan." This phrase captures the essence of our hope for the Network also.

Refreshments
The day ended on a happy note with lots of tasty refreshments, a welcome cuppa and, above all, a chance to chat and reunite.
Mass of Faith and CD Launch
Launch of Mass of Faith CD
On Thursday, 31st January, a Mass of Faith celebrating Holy Faith’s 140 years of life and mission was held in The Holy Child Church, Larkhill. The music for the Mass was composed by Sr. Marie Dunne and the Gospel Choir from St. Mary’s Secondary School, Glasnevin led the singing.
The CD of Mass of Faith was launched following the Mass by Fr. Pat O'Donoghue, Diocesan Director of Music, and all who came to this joyful event shared refreshments together afterwards. The RTE Mass broadcast on 16th December 2007 was also in thanksgiving for 140 years as a congregation and the Mass of Faith was sung by the same choir.
Associates' Meetings
  Celbridge Associates

Both the Dublin and Celbridge associates had meetings in January and March. Diane attended both January meetings to introduce herself as the new Network Co--ordinator and Jane was able to attend the Celbridge meeting to speak about the new website.

Both meetings, as usual, began with a time of sharing, followed by prayer and refreshments.

Easter Sunday sunrise in Clontarf

Clontarf Seafront, 6.15am - Easter Sunday Morning
The tide was out, the rain had just stopped, the clouds were numerous - but the sunrise was all the more symbolic of the resurrection of the Risen Lord for these conditions as members of all the Christian Churches in Clontarf, Dublin, gathered to give thanks and praise together at sunrise on Easter Morning.
Our greetings and best wishes!
We send our best wishes for the blessing of a speedy recovery and our assurance of prayer to associates Peig Keane and Josie Murphy who have had surgery recently and we wish Niamh Ní Nualláin the blessing of stronger health in the days to come.
